2013 Acura RDX

best car 2013 Acura RDX

The 2013 Acura RDX ranks 7 out of 10 Luxury Compact SUVs. This ranking is based on our analysis of 18 published reviews and test drives of the Acura RDX, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

Following some extensive updates, reviewers say the 2013 Acura RDX has comfortable seating and a high-quality interior, but some wish it had sportier performance.

The Acura RDX received a complete overhaul for the 2013 model year. For starters, the RDX only comes with a V6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the 2012 model isn’t available anymore, and reviewers are particularly glad Acura chucked the dated five-speed automatic transmission. Following these changes, test drivers think the 2013 RDX has a comfortable ride and a powerful engine, but say it lacks the tight steering feel of its rivals.

Reviewers, however, are pleased with the RDX’s cabin space. They say both the front and rear rows are comfortable for adults. Cargo space is also class-competitive, and the cargo area has a flat floor that they say is easy to load items in. The RDX comes with an impressive list of standard features, including push-button start, a USB port and Bluetooth. However, reviewers dislike that the RDX doesn’t offer much optional safety equipment. You can get a rearview camera, but blind spot monitoring, for example, isn’t available at all.

Overall, if you want a smooth-riding SUV with plenty of interior space and a lot of standard tech features, reviewers agree that the 2013 Acura RDX is a worthy choice. Still, some auto critics think it may not have the performance capabilities some shoppers expect from a luxury crossover SUV.
