2013 Subaru Tribeca

best car 2013 Subaru Tribeca

The 2013 Subaru Tribeca ranks 22 out of 22 Affordable Midsize SUVs. This ranking is based on our analysis of 96 published reviews and test drives of the Subaru Tribeca, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

The 2013 Subaru Tribeca offers decent performance, but it trails rivals that offer better fuel economy and/or more cargo and passenger space.

The Subaru Tribeca is powered by a six-cylinder engine that reviewers say provides adequate power for most drivers and situations. Critics also say that the Tribeca has decent handling and a composed ride that feels smooth over rough roads. However, few are “wowed” by the Tribeca. At 16/21 mpg city/highway, its fuel economy is poor by class standards, and some say that its steering and brakes, while adequate at turning and stopping the vehicle, need improvement. The Tribeca also stands out wit above-average safety scores for the class.

The Tribeca’s cabin also gets mixed reviews. Critics like the design of the interior, but note that some of the materials used feel cheap and hard. Many also say that the Tribeca offers little space for second- and third-row passengers compared to many rivals. It also trails competitors in available cargo space. Available in only one trim level, the Tribeca is fairly well-equipped, with standard features like a Harman Kardon stereo, Bluetooth and dual-zone climate control. However, some reviewers gripe that Subaru doesn’t offer a proper infotainment system to Tribeca buyers, which an increasing number of competitors do offer.
